Political Special Olympics...

Last night, Speaker Boehner and the House of Representatives passed a debt ceiling bill which was immediately shelved by the Senate. The Democrat controlled Senate then set out to put forward their own bill; Harry Reid stated that the House bill was written to satisfy "extremist" Tea Party members, that is why it was DOA, President Obama stated, I'm paraphrasing here, "Now that the political exercises are over, we can get to work.". If the Democrats are so gung-ho to get something done, why couldn't a few of them have crossed the aisle to support Boehner's original bill? The reason the Boehner bill was rewritten to appeal to the Tea Party types was due to the fact that the Dems in the House sat on their asses and lent no support whatsoever. Who's having the political exercises? Who's the party of no? Who's playing games with this very serious issue? The simple fact is, the Democrats have done nothing but stand on their soapboxes and fear-mongered throughout this entire debate. The Republican House has put forward THREE bills to address this issue, Democrats in the Senate have done nothing but deride these plans. Harry Reid has put forth a draft of a plan, but Moody's and S&P have made it clear that this plan will not keep the United States credit rating from being downgraded. It's time for people to wake up; the liberals on Capitol Hill and President Obama own this disaster, if it comes to fruition, let's make sure they pay for it next November and start getting ourselves dug out of this hole Obama and his minions have put us in.
